<br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />December 11, 2006 <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Proposal- IH-35/Wonder World Drive; Hotel Conference Center; Downtown <br />Area). The Council adjourned into Executive Session at 6:10 p.m. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz announced the Council would reconvene at 6:58 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced for consideration adoption or direction to Staff <br />on matters discussed in Executive Session. Mr. O'Leary stated the Council <br />received updates on development incentive proposals in the downtown area <br />and IH-35/Wonder World Drive. He stated the Council also provided <br />direction regarding economic development negotiations regarding Hotel <br />Conference Center. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz lead the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Citizen Comment Period. 1) Amy Kirwin stated <br />she wished to speak on Item 21, Resolution regarding the Skate Park. She <br />encouraged the Council to support Phase I of the Skate Park project, which <br />includes the street plaza area. She stated Phase II will involve the <br />construction of a bowl structure. She also stated the committee would like <br />to complete Phase I by May 2007. 2) Bib Underwood stated he is a member of <br />the Parks and Recreation Board. He stated he would like to speak regarding <br />Item 22, Resolution regarding Park Grant. He encouraged the Council to <br />support the Resolution on sporting goods taxes. He also encouraged the I <br />Council to look closely to see if there is something more that can be done <br />to get more money from Texas Parks & Wildlife. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the Staff Report. Mr. O'Leary stated he did not <br />have a Staff Report. <br /> <br />Mayor Narvaiz introduced the City Council Reports. 1) Donovan Knight <br />stated he and Kyle Morris, President of Student Alliance Government, will <br />be meeting with Dr. Kelly from SMCISD for the mentoring program at the San <br />Marcos High School. 2) Donovan Knight wished all the citizens Happy <br />Holidays. 3) Mr. Thomaides encouraged the public to attend the City <br />Council Workshop on Friday, December 15, 2006 at 1l:30 a.m. regarding the <br />Commuter Rail. 4) Ms. Couch thanked the LBJ Museum Board for inviting her <br />to the museum opening. 5) Ms. Couch thanked the Board and Commission <br />volunteers who completed a Volunteer Interest Form. 6) Ms. Couch also <br />wished everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. 7) Mr. Bose stated he <br />attended the Main Street Advisory Board development retreat which was held <br />in Huntsville on December 9, 2006. He stated this was a very informational <br />meeting. 8) Mr. Bose thanked his wife for supporting his service on the <br />Council, especially tonight since it is their Wedding Anniversary. 9) Mr. <br />Guerrero stated he was honored to speak at the LBJ Museum opening while the <br />Mayor was attending National League of Cities. He stated he feels the <br />museum is a strong representation of Lyndon Baines Johnson. 10) Mr. <br />Guerrero stated he was also honored to be a part of the SM High School Pep <br /> <br />I <br />
