Mr. Guerra moved to amend <br />Sec. 29-144. (b) as follows:" except that the Chief of <br />Police, unless otherwise directed by the City Council, is author- <br />ized to cause to be painted. . . .", and Mayor Younger seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. The Chief of Police is <br />directed to complete the reserved times as is appropriate. The <br />Council voted unanimously for approval of the Ordinance on first <br />reading. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION A105.4.l OF THE 1985 <br />STANDARD MECHANICAL CODE ADOPTED FEBRUARY 23, 1987, <br />AND ESTABLISHI~G AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading <br />and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion. Ms. Kissler expressed concern <br />that it may be difficult to get members to serve on this Board if <br />the membership was too restrictive. Mr. Nicola said it might be <br />difficult but he felt the Board needed specialized persons. The <br />Council requested a listing be provided of the licensed persons in <br />this field. Mr. Farr moved to amend the Ordinance in Section <br />A.105.4.l to call the Board "Mechanical Code Board of Adjustments <br />and Appeals", and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. Mr. Guerra moved to amend the Ordinance in Section <br />A.105.4.l as follows: 11 ... Such Board may be composed of <br />three contractors licensed to install mechanI'Cal equipment, . . . .", <br />and Mayor Younger seconded the motion. On roll call the following <br />vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Brown, Guerra, Younger, Hernandez. <br />NAY: Farr, Kissler, Nicola. <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br /> <br />The motion passed. The Council then voted unanimously for approval <br />of the Ordinance on first reading. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration reconsideration of two <br />Zoning Ordinances. The Council did not wish to reconsider these <br />Ordinances.
