57 Regular Meeting April 25, 1988 Page 6 Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, J. E. YOUNGER, TO SIGN A LETTER OF INTENT FOR THE CITY OF SAN MAR- COS TO PURCHASE PARKLAND IN COOPERATION WITH OTHER ENTITIES AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Ms. Kissler moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Guerra se- conded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SEEK REQUESTS FOR PROPOSALS FROM ARCHITECTURAL AND ENGINEER- ING CONSULTANTS RELATING TO THE DESIGN OF FACILITIES TO BE USED BY THE GARY JOB CORPS CENTER NEAR THE SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, AUTHORIZING THE USE OF FAA GUIDELINES IN THE SELECTION PROCESS AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Farr moved for adoption of the Resolution and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion. Jack Doughty advised the Council the selection would be coordinated with the FAA project manager. Mr. Doughty said they will advertise locally for RFQs, after receipt the Airport Commission will review and make a recommendation to the City Manager, upon the City Manager's acceptance, the selection will be forwarded to FAA for their concurrence and then a contract will be prepared for Council approval. Mayor Younger moved to amend the Resolution to change "Proposals" to "Qualifications 11 throughout the Resolution and Mr. Farr seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT RESOLUTION ADOPTED ON MARCH 7,1988, WHICH APPOINTED VARIOUS ELECTION OFFI- CIALS FOR THE GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION OF SAID CITY TO BE HELD ON MAY 7, 1988, AND DECLARING AN EF- FECTIVE DATE. Mr. Hernandez moved for adoption of the Resolution and for amendment to substitute Mark Lambdin in place of Danny Dever and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING FOR OWNERSHIP, MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION THE COMPLETED REGIONAL SANITARY SEWER INTERCEPTOR WHICH RUNS FROM THE IIOLD JAIL HOUSE LIFT STATION" TO THE IIOLD TREATMENT PLANT" AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
