Fred Hays stated he was present to answer questions of the Council. No one else wished to speak, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Brown seconded the mo- tion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE PLAN (MAP) OF THE MASTER PLAN OF SAID CITY, OF 1.40 ACRES OF LAND OUT OF THE J. M. VERAMENDI SURVEY No.2, CITY OF SAN MARCOS, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, AS RECORDED IN VOLUME 267, PAGE 159 OF THE HAYS COUNTY DEED RECORDS, SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, LOCATED AT 132 JACKSON STREET, FROM HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO OFFICE AND PROFESSIONAL; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak for or against the land use change. No one did, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. Brown moved for adoption of the Resolu- tion and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration reconsideration of a Zoning Ordinance. The Council did not wish to reconsider this Ordinance. The caption of this Ordinance reads as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED JUNE 13, 1984 (VOL. 66) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF 2.22 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, OF LAND AREA OUT OF THE J. M. VERAMENDI SURVEy NO. ONE (1), HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, BEING THE SAME REAL PROPERTY AS IS DENOMINATED "SECOND TRACT" IN THAT DEED FROM E. M. CAPE, ET UX, TO HORACE CAPE, DATED AUGUST 3, 1945 AND RECORDED IN VOLUME 133, PAGES 594-7, OF THE DEED RECORDS OF HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, A/KIA EAST SIDE OF MCKIE, NORTH OF COUNTY ROAD 299, FROM "PD" (PRE-DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT) TO "c" (COMMER- CIAL DISTRICT); AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 29-110 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ADD ONE INTERSECTION AT WHICH DRIVERS OF VEHICLES MUST STOP AT POSTED STOP SIGNS AND DECLAR- ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
