City Council Meeting Minutes December 16, 2014 <br />For: 7 - Mayor Guerrero, Council Member Thomaides, Council Member Thomason, <br />Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Scott, Mayor Pro -Tern Prather, Council Member Prewitt <br />and Council Member Hughson <br />Against: 0 <br />19. Receive a Staff update and hold discussion regarding CodeSMTX, a re -write of the <br />City's Land Development Code, and provide direction to Staff. <br />Abigail Gillfillan, Permit Manager, led a discussion and provided an update on the City's LDC <br />re- write. Council provided direction to Staff to send them the written comments regarding the <br />one- way to two -way conversion on LBJ Drive during the Rhythem of the Street kickoff event. <br />20. Hold discussion regarding the Texas National Guard Armory Building, and provide <br />direction to Staff. <br />A brief discussion was held regarding the Texas National Guard Armory led by Mayor Pro Tern <br />Prather and Council Member Hughson. Consensus was to have Staff meet with the Texas <br />National Guard to discuss other options. <br />21. Receive a Fourth Quarter update from the Greater San Marcos Partnership, and <br />provide direction to Staff. <br />Adriana Cruz, President of the Greater San Marcos Partnership provided the 4th quarter update. <br />VI. Question and Answer Session with Press and Public. <br />Don Eyssen, 200 Orchard, asked why are we pressing forward with code rewrite as a SmartCode <br />type thing? Why are we listening to new urbanists and not old school planners? <br />Mayor Guerrero responded by explaining the process. <br />VII. Adjournment. <br />A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Scott, seconded by Council Member Hughson, to <br />adjourn the regular meeting of the San Marcos City Council at 9:23 p.m. The motion carried by <br />the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Guerrero, Council Member Thomaides, Council Member Thomason, <br />Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Scott, Mayor Pro -Tem Prather, Council Member Prewitt <br />and Council Member Hughson <br />Against: 0 <br />Jamie Lee OiettijohlZ, City Cler'4;c`� <br />City of San Marcos Page 6 <br />niel Guerrero, Mayor <br />
