City Council Meeting Minutes December 16, 2014 For: 7 - Mayor Guerrero, Council Member Thomaides, Council Member Thomason, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Scott, Mayor Pro -Tern Prather, Council Member Prewitt and Council Member Hughson Against: 0 19. Receive a Staff update and hold discussion regarding CodeSMTX, a re -write of the City's Land Development Code, and provide direction to Staff. Abigail Gillfillan, Permit Manager, led a discussion and provided an update on the City's LDC re- write. Council provided direction to Staff to send them the written comments regarding the one- way to two -way conversion on LBJ Drive during the Rhythem of the Street kickoff event. 20. Hold discussion regarding the Texas National Guard Armory Building, and provide direction to Staff. A brief discussion was held regarding the Texas National Guard Armory led by Mayor Pro Tern Prather and Council Member Hughson. Consensus was to have Staff meet with the Texas National Guard to discuss other options. 21. Receive a Fourth Quarter update from the Greater San Marcos Partnership, and provide direction to Staff. Adriana Cruz, President of the Greater San Marcos Partnership provided the 4th quarter update. VI. Question and Answer Session with Press and Public. Don Eyssen, 200 Orchard, asked why are we pressing forward with code rewrite as a SmartCode type thing? Why are we listening to new urbanists and not old school planners? Mayor Guerrero responded by explaining the process. VII. Adjournment.
