<br />8 <br /> <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />October 24, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 16, MISCELLAENOUS OFFENSES AND <br />PROVISIONS, ARTICLE I, SECTION 16-12 OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE <br />OF ORDINANCES TO INCLUDE AS OFFENSES STOPPING AND STANDING <br />ON RAILROAD TRESTLE BRIDGES CROSSING THE SAN MARCOS RIVER; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Moore moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading <br />and Mr. Plummer seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an <br />Ordinance on second reading, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 9-3(b) OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY TO REQUIRE THE ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR <br />TO BE LICENSED AS A MASTER ELECTRICIAN, AMENDING SECTION <br />9-7(e) OF SAID CHAPTER TO PROHIBIT THE USE OF <br />NONMETALLIC-SHEATHED CABLE WIRING AND SHIELDED <br />NONMETALLIC-SHEATHED CABLE WIRING IN THE CENTRAL BUSINESS <br />AREA DISTRICT, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance on second reading <br />and Mr. Plummer seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration reconsideration of a <br />Zoning Ordinance. The Council did not wish to reconsider the <br />Ordinance. The caption of the Ordinance reads as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES <br />AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES <br />AND LAND, DATED JUNE 13, 1984 (VOL. 66) BY ZONING BLOCK 1, <br />LOT llA OF A REPLAT OF A PORTION OF LOTS 11 AND 12, BLOCK <br />ONE, D. P. HOPKINS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, HAYS <br />COUNTY, TEXAS, AS RECORDED IN VOLUME 5, PAGE 70 OF THE HAYS <br />COUNTY PLAT RECORDS, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, LOCATED AT 321 S. <br />L.B.J. DRIVE, FROM "I" (INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT) TO "C" <br />(COMMERCIAL DISTRICT); AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration adoption of a <br />Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF AMENDMENT NO.1 <br />TO A LEASE BETWEEN SAID CITY AND HAYS COUNTY APPRAISAL <br />DISTRICT CONCERNING PAYMENTS FOR NATURAL GAS UTILITY <br />SERVICE, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID AMENDMENT ON <br />BEHALF OF SAID CITY, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Moore moved for adoption of the Resolution and Ms. Kissler <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of minutes of <br />the Special Meeting held October 7, 1988, the Regular Meeting <br />held October 10, 1988 and the Special Meeting held October 17, <br />1988; approval of four Ordinances on second reading; adoption of <br />five Ordinances on third and final reading; and adoption of six <br />Resolutions by consensus. Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the <br />minutes (Mr. Guerra abstaining from the minutes of the Special <br />Meeting held October 17, 1988); approval of the four Ordinances <br />on second reading; adoption of the five Ordinances on third and <br />final reading; and adoption of the six Resolutions (Mayor Morris <br />abstaining from Resolution Item l2.D. [3]) by consensus, and Mr. <br />Plummer seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The <br />captions of the Ordinances and Resolutions read as follows: <br />
