The Council requested to consider each Ordin- <br />ance separately. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger then introduced for consideration approval of the <br />Ordinance on second reading from the consensus agenda, the caption <br />which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TE;<AS, AMENDING SECTION 29-132 OF THE SAN <br />MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES BY PROVIDING FOR A 45 MPH <br />SPEED LIMIT ONFM 3407 (WONDER WORLD DRIVE) AND <br />ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Guerra moved for approval of the Ordinance on second reading and <br />Mayor Younger seconded the motion. Mr. Nicola asked why the street <br />had been striped, and Mr. Gonzalez stated the street does not meet <br />state standards for a four-lane road. t1r. Coddington stated signs <br />nèed to be posted to advise citizens what the stripes mean (shoulder). <br />Mr. Gonzalez stated he will request the state for signage. The Council <br />then voted unanimously for approval of the Ordinance on second reading. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance on <br />third and final reading from the consensus agenda, the caption which <br />was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, BY <br />ADDING AN ARTICLE TO BE NUMBERED X TO SAID CHAPTER <br />PROVIDING FOR THE CREATION OF A CITIZENS STORM DRAIN- <br />AGE ADVISORY BOARD; PROVIDING FOR THE COMPOSITION AND <br />APPOINTMENT OF THE MEMBERS OF SAID BOARD; ESTABLISHING <br />GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF SAID BOARD AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Brown moved for adoption of the Ordinance on third and final read- <br />ing and Mr. Farr seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance on <br />third and final reading from the consensus agenda, the caption which <br />was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, ABANDONING AND VACATING A PORTION OF <br />A SIXTEEN FOOT (16') WIDE ALLEY, AND BEING THAT POR- <br />TION WHICH ABUTS LOTS 33 AND 34 OF THE SECOND DIVISION <br />OF PARK ADDITION IN SAID CITY; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE SPECIAL WARRANTY DEEDS; REFLECT- <br />ING PAYMENT OF THE FAIR MARKET VALUE OF $180.00; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Farr moved for adoption of the Ordinance on third and final read- <br />ing and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion. The Council directed the City <br />Secretary review the Minutes to see if the abandonment had previously <br />been considered by the Council prior to November 14, 1985 and stated <br />they would continue consideration of this Ordinance following the <br />Executive Session scheduled in this meeting. <br />
