<br />74 <br /> <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />April 13, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 10 OF THE SAN MARCOS <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES BY REPEALING THE 1976 FIRE PREVEN- <br />TION CODE AND ADOPTING THE 1985 STANDARD FIRE PREVEN- <br />TION CODE AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Brown moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and <br />Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS; ABANDONING AND VACATING A 15 FOOT BY <br />315 FOOT ALLEY, AND BEING THAT ALLEY WHICH ABUTS LOTS <br />236-241 AND 262-267, BLOCK 40 OF THE WESTOVER ADDITION <br />TO THE CI~Y OF SAN ~ffiRCOS, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, AUTHOR- <br />IZING THE MAYOR OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE A SPECIAL WAR- <br />RANTY DEED; REFLECTING PAYMENT OF THE FAIR MARKET VALUE <br />OF $285.00 AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Coddington moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading <br />and Mayor Younger seconded the motion. Mr. Brown pointed out the <br />city engineer recommended denial of the Ordinance until the streets <br />and drainage are in place, because the City might need to acquire pro- <br />perty during the improvements project and it would cost more to buy <br />land after we give it up. Mr. Nicola moved this matter be tabled until <br />the engineering studies have been completed and a determination is made <br />whether or not we will need any of this property (Mr. Jenkins indicated <br />the study would be completed in two to three months), and Mr. Guerra <br />seconded the motion. Mr. Nicola stated he wanted the applicant to <br />voice any concerns they might have for this delay. Mr. Robbins indi- <br />cated the applicant wants to put a structure in the alley. On roll <br />call on the tabling motion, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br /> <br />Brown, Farr, Younger, Guerra, Kissler, Nicola. <br /> <br />NAY; <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Coddington. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT ORDINANCE ADOPTED SEPTEM- <br />BER 8, 1986 WHICH SET FORTH AN ITEMIZED ESTIMATE OF <br />THE EXPENSE OF CONDUCTING EACH ADMINISTRATIVE UNIT <br />OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF SAID CITY FOR THE FIS- <br />CAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1986 AND ENDING ON SEP- <br />TEMBER 30, 1987, AND APPROPRIATED MONEY FOR THE VARIOUS <br />FUNDS AND PURPOSES OF SUCH ESTIMATE, TO REVISE SAID <br />ESTIMATES AND TO REAPPROPRIATE SAID FUNDS, ADOPTING <br />SAID REVISIONS AND ESTIMATES, AND DECLARING AN EFFECT- <br />IVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Brown moved for approval of the Ordinanoeand Mr. Coddington seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />
