Mayor <br />Younger moved to award the bid to Lightbourn Equipment Co. of San <br />Antonio, Texas in the amount of $12,301.00 and Mr. Guerra seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger stated the next item on the agenda did not need to <br />be considered, approval of Change Order No.2 in the amount of <br />$9,678.75 on LBJ-Chestnut-Ridgeway Wastewater Line Project, as Item <br />9 on this Agenda was tabled, the budget amendment for the funds for <br />this project. It will be rescheduled for June 22, 1987. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of allocation of <br />contingency funds in the amount of $3,375.00 for two gates on McCarty <br />Lane at the railroad crossings. Ms. Kissler moved for approval and <br />Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of allocation of <br />contingency funds in the amount of $1,000 to Cravens, Dargan & Company <br />for self-insured retention (Claim No. 29187; Claimant, Pat Price). Ms. <br />Kissler moved for approval and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval to close San Antonio <br />Street between Guadalupe and LBJ on June 11,1987, from 5:30 p.m. to <br />10:30 p.m. for Tim Walsh's Laser Light Show, All-Town Talent Show and <br />Box Supper. Mayor Younger moved for approval and Ms. Kissler seconded <br />the motion. Mr. Guerra stated portable toilets need to be provided by <br />activities being held in this area. Chief Galchutt stated the Council <br />may wish to consider police being hired when alcohol is sold at these <br />activities. The Council directed Mr. Gonzalez present policies covering <br />these matters at a future meeting for the Council's consideration. <br />The Council voted unanimously for approval to close the street on <br />June 11, 1987. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval to close San Antonio <br />Street between Guadalupe and LBJ on June 27,1987, from 9:00 a.m. to <br />5:00 p.m. for the Jaycees' Fourth Annual Seafood Gumbo Cookoff. Mr. <br />Hernandez moved for approval and Mayor Younger seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced a Mayor's discussion item, Post Road drainage. <br />Mr. Boeker stated the City needs to place a 24" drain in this area, <br />and possibly a second 24" drain and that the City needs to start ac- <br />quiring easements so we can put in the drainage. Mr. Gonzalez was <br />directed to look into the possibility of a transportation fee being <br />established. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced a Mayor's discussion item, fluoridation. Mr. <br />Boeker advised Spring lake would be ready by October 1, 1987 and we <br />need approximately $10,200 at the Comanche location plus $7,000 for <br />a building and that the building will have to be bid. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced a Mayor's discussion item, a flood warning <br />system. Mr. Gonzalez advised $2,000 is needed, and Chief Galchutt <br />advised the City needs an agreement prepared for the equipment. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced a Mayor's discussion item, the Entex franchise. <br />Mayor Younger stated he has talked with a City in South Texas that <br />stated they and five other Cities in their area charge a 5% franchise <br />tax, and Mayor Younger wants our City to look at that. Mr. Hankins <br />advised the City cannot charge a 5% franchise fee unless Entex agrees <br />
