(c) Maintenance person. This designation applies to maintenance of existing buildings or structures. A person <br />applying for a property maintenance person registration shall pass the required Maintenance Person examination <br />to obtainer this registration. The examination is determined by the Building Official and serves as notification <br />for the work that a maintenance person is and isn't allowed to complete without a permit. <br />Sec. 14.374. -Examination. <br />The building official working in conjunction with the Construction Board of Appeals may provide for testing <br />of candidates for residential and general contractor's licenses through the use of ICC tests. <br />Sec. 14.3754. - Application for examination. <br />(a) Applications for license or registration examinations under this division will be made on a form furnished by the <br />building official. The application shall specify the applicant's experience and shall state whether the applicant <br />has ever been licensed as a contractor and, if so, when and by what jurisdiction; whether a license held by the <br />applicant has ever been suspended or revoked; and whether the applicant has ever been refused a license and, if <br />so, the date of and the reason for suspension, revocation or refusal. <br />(b) To determine whether the applicant is eligible to take the examination, the building official will review each <br />application to determine whether the applicant meets the qualifications described in section 14.373. An applicant <br />who is denied eligibility by the building official may submit a written appeal to the e<>n4,Fu-e,tConstruction <br />4oa-K4-13oard of adjusfmeats an Appeals. A passing grade of seventy (70) percent is required. This designation applies to limited specific forms of construction such as awnings retaining <br />walls. -ia . stair repairs and similar types of work as determined by the eJ ie-f-bBuilding official A.)erson <br />applying for a specialist contractor registration shall be able to demonstrate proficient knowledge in the area specified <br />as determined by the Building Official.
