<br />2 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting March 1, 1993 Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY ZONING <br />72.2 ACRES OF LAND AREA SITUATED IN THE J. M. VERAMENDI SURVEY <br />NO.2, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, CONSISTING OF 12.2 ACRE, 20.0 ACRE I <br />AND 40.0 ACRE TRACTS OF LAND, DESCRIBED, RESPECTIVELY, IN DEEDS I <br />TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS DATED DECEMBER 30, 1967 AND RECORDED <br />IN VOLUME 221, PAGE 371, DATED APRIL 23, 1982 AND RECORDED IN <br />VOLUME 374, PAGE 249, AND DATED JULY 26, 1982 AND RECORDED IN <br />VOLUME 378, PAGE 558, ALL IN THE HAYS COUNTY DEED RECORDS, <br />LOCATED ON THE SOUTHEAST SIDE OF THE 700 BLOCK OF RIVER ROAD <br />FROM "PD" (PRE-DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT) TO uP" (PUBLIC AND <br />INSTITUTIONAL DISTRICT) AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak for or against the Zoning Ordinance. No one did, so Mayor <br />Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of <br />the Zoning Ordinance and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br />i <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the <br />Regular Meeting held February 22, 1993, adoption of twelve <br />Ordinances on third and final reading, adoption of six Resolutions, <br />approval of expenditure from the Tourist Account to purchase 1,000 <br />city lapel pins in the amount of $1,850.00 and approval to grant <br />petition of Al Lowman for annexation of 23.41 acres, located at the <br />Southwest corner of IH35 and Center Point Road on consensus. Mr. <br />Moore requested a correction of the minutes on Page 4 to read <br />Puentes' Bill rather than Fuentes' Bill. The Council removed Item <br />4.C. (1), adoption of a Resolution, to be considered separately. Ms. <br />Kissler moved for approval of the minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />held February 22, 1993, as corrected, for adoption of the twelve <br />Ordinances on third and final reading, for adoption of the remaining <br />five Resolutions, for approval of the expenditure from the Tourist <br />Account for city lapel pins in the amount of $1,850.00, and for <br />approval of grant the petition of Al Lowman for annexation of 23.41 <br />acres on consensus and Mr. Hart seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously (Mayor Morris abstaining to Item 4.A., approval of <br />minutes of Regular Meeting February 22, 1993; Mr. Hernandez voting <br />Nay to Item 4.B.[9], adoption of Ordinance on third and final <br />reading).
