RESOLUTION NO. 2015-80R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF T-HANGARS AND ASSOCIATED IMPROVEMENTS AT THE CITY'S AIRPORT IN THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT OF $755,000; APPROVING THE CITY'S EXPENDITURE OF LOCAL MATCHING FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF 10 PERCENT OF THE GRANT AWARD; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE ALL CONTRACTS AND DOCUMENTS AS NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THE GRANT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: 1. The City intends to make certain improvements to the San Marcos Regional Airport generally described as Eight Nested T-Hangars with Apron and associated improvements. 2. The Texas Department of Transportation has made funding available for the costs of construction of the improvements in the estimated amount of$755,000. 3. The City, as the Sponsor, has available and will provide at least 10 percent of the project costs with local funds and understands that any additional costs above $600,000 in federal or state funds cannot be increased. 4. The City wishes to accept a grant form the Texas Department of Transportation in such amount subject to the commitment of matching funds from the City. RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. A grant from the Texas Department of Transportation for construction of Eight Nested T-Hangars with apron and associated improvements in the estimated amount of $755,000 is approved. PART 2. The City's expenditure of matching funds in an amount 10 percent of the grant award is approved. PART 3. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to execute on behalf of the City, at the appropriate time, all contracts and documents as are necessary and appropriate for implementation of the grant.
