• RESOLUTION NO. 2009-35R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING A GRANT <br />APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS COMMISSION ON FIRE <br />PROTECTION FOR THE PURCHASE OF FIRE EQUIPMENT <br />AND FOR FIRE TRAINING SCHOLARSHIPS; AUTHORIZING <br />THE INTERIM FIRE CHIEF TO EXECUTE THE <br />APPLICATION AND RELATED DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF <br />OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. The Fire Department would like to apply for a grant from the Texas <br />Commission on Fire Protection in an amount totaling $15, 223.00. This grant does not <br />require that the City match any of the funds. <br />2. The proceeds from the grant will be used to buy bunker gear, fire hose, self- <br />contained breathing apparatus face masks, and six scholarships to the Texas A&M <br />municipal fire school. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />• <br />PART 1. The City's submission of the grant application to the Texas Commission <br />on Fire Protection for the purchase of fire equipment and fire school scholarships is <br />approved. <br />PART 2. The Interim Fire Chief, Len Nored, is authorized to execute the grant <br />application and related documents on behalf of the City. <br />PART 3.
