• RESOLUTION 2009-31 R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF <br />PROJECTS FOR THE CITY'S APPLICATION THROUGH THE <br />TEXAS CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION FOR FEDERAL <br />BUDGETARY APPROPRIATIONS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS the City Council of San Marcos, Texas, finds that it is in the City's best <br />interest to apply for fiscal year 2010 federal infrastructure and facility appropriations <br />through the regular Congressional budget process. <br />WHEREAS the City Council of San Marcos Texas, finds that the following projects <br />should be submitted: <br />1. Construction of an elevated roadway across Union Pacific Railroad <br />crossings on Loop 82 (Aquarena Springs) in the sum of $11,000,000. <br />2. Construction of a new terminal building at the San Marcos Municipal <br />Airport in the sum of $4,700,000; and, <br />• 3. Improvements to central business district sidewalks in the sum of <br />$4,324,000. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The City Council approves the submission of the three above listed <br />projects to Senators Kay Bailey Hutchison and John Comyn and Congressman Lloyd <br />Doggett as the City's application for Federal funding through the fiscal year 2010 federal <br />budgetary process. <br />PART 2. The City Manager, Rick Menchaca, is authorized to execute the <br />documents necessary to submit the projects for congressional consideration. <br />PART 2. This Resolution is in full force and effect from and after the date of <br />consideration. <br />PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of San Marcos on March 3, 2009. <br />0
