<br />73 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting September 27, 1993 Page 3 <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />AN 8.8526 ACRE TRACT OF LAND OUT OF THE J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE <br />NUMBER 2, IN HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, LOCATED AT 1005 RIVER ROAD, <br />FROM "R-1" (SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT [LOW DENSITY]) TO <br />"MH" (MOBILE HOME DISTRICT) AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak for or against the zoning change. No one did, so Mayor Morris <br />closed the public hearing. Mr. Moore moved for adoption of the <br />Zoning ordi~~nce and Mr. Mooney seconded the motion. The Council <br />asked Ron Patterson about enforcement of unkept areas. Mr. <br />Patterson advised the Council Staff is working on maintenance items <br />with the park owner through the Health Department and Building <br />Inspections. The Council voted unanimously for adoption of the <br />Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />0.342 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, OF LAND AREA BEING ALL OF LOT 4, <br />BLOCK 2, AND THE APPROXIMATE SOUTHWEST ONE-HALF OF LOT 1, BLOCK <br />4 OF THE FOURTH REVISION OF FOREST HILL AND COLLEGE HEIGHTS <br />ADDITIONS IN HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, LOCATED AT 1011 BLUEBONNET <br />DRIVE, FROM "R-1" (SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT [LOW <br />DENSITY]) TO "DP-1" (TWO-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT [LOW <br />DENSITY]) AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak for or against the zoning change. No one did, so Mayor Morris <br />closed the public hearing. Mr. Moore moved for adoption of the <br />Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Plummer seconded the motion. The Zoning <br />commission denied approval of the zoning request, which would <br />require six votes of approval of the City Council for the zoning to <br />be approved. On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Moore, Morris, Plummer. <br /> <br />NAY: Mooney, Hart, Guerra, Cox. <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br /> <br />The motion failed. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />; AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />. TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />LOT 29, BLOCK 2 OF THE WESTOVER ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, AS RECORDED IN VOLUME 59, PAGE 184 OF THE HAYS COUNTY <br />DEED RECORDS, LOCATED AT 1400 CLYDE STREET, FROM "M" <br />(SINGLE-FAMILY DUPLEX AND NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS DISTRICT) TO <br />"DP-2" (TWO-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT [MEDIUM DENSITY]) AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak for or against the zoning change. No one did, so Mayor Morris <br />closed the public hearing. Mr. Plummer moved for adoption of the <br />Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Hart seconded the motion. Mr. Cox stated <br />the Master Plan shows the area to be low density, and Mr. Patterson <br />stated there is some trend in density increase in the area, but this <br />is not considered spot zoning. The Council voted unanimously for <br />adoption of the Zoning Ordinance. <br />
