2015 -2018 Meet and Confer Agreement <br />Between the San Marcos Professional Firefighters Association and the City of San Marcos, Texas <br />ARTICLE 6 <br />SICK LEAVE AND VACATIONS <br />Section 1. Sick Leave <br />Notwithstanding TLGC 143.045, Firefighters will accrue and use sick leave on the basis of hours. A <br />Firefighter who leaves the classified service for any reason is entitled to payment for his /her accumulated <br />sick leave as per current practice as of October 1, 2009, at the firefighters base pay hourly rate at their <br />current classification and pay step. This provision shall, to the extent of any conflict, supersede TLGC <br />§143.045, any state statute, city ordinance, city policy, department rule or local civil service rule. <br />Section 2. Vacation <br />Notwithstanding TLGC §143.046, Firefighters will accrue and use vacation leave on the basis of hours. A <br />Firefighter who leaves the classified service for any reason is entitled to payment for his /her accumulated <br />vacation leave as per current practice as of October 1, 2009 at the firefighter's base pay hourly rate at <br />their current classification and pay step. This provision shall, to the extent of any conflict, supersede TLGC <br />§143.046, any state statute, city ordinance, city policy, department rule or local civil service rule. <br />Page 10 <br />
