The State of Texas § <br />County of Hays § <br />INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS AND COUNTY OF HAYS, TEXAS <br />RECOVERY ACT: JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT (JAG) PROGRAM AWARD <br />This Interlocal Agreement is made and entered into to be effective the day of <br />April 2009 (the "Effective Date"), by and between the County of Hays, Texas, hereinafter <br />referred to as COUNTY, and the City of San Marcos, Texas, hereinafter referred to as CITY, <br />under the authority of the Interlocal Cooperation Act (the "Act"), Chapter 791 of the Texas <br />Government Code, as amended. The CITY and COUNTY may also be referred to herein as the <br />"Parties". <br />RECITALS: <br />WHEREAS, federal economic stimulus funding has made additional funds available for <br />Justice Assistance Grants ("JAG") to assist local law enforcement programs; and <br />WHEREAS, up to $121,363.00 JAG funds are available to the CITY and the COUNTY; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, to be eligible to receive such JAG funds, the CITY and the COUNTY must <br />jointly apply for such funds; and <br />WHEREAS, the CITY and the COUNTY agree that it is in their mutual best interests to <br />jointly make application for such funds and to equally share in the award of such funds; and <br />WHEREAS, each governing body finds that the performance of this Interlocal <br />Agreement is in the best interest of both Parties, that the undertaking will benefit the public.
