<br />60 <br />Regular Meeting June 28, 1993 Page 6 <br />issues stated and when they address the issues, we will be able to <br />assist them. <br />Mayor Morris introduced the City Manager's Report. Mr. Gilley <br />stated the city could provide signs, "We Love Our Children" at a <br />cost of $6.00 per sign and could install them on Neighborhood Watch <br />poles for $15.00 per sign. <br />Mayor Morris introduced the City Attorney's Report. Mr. Taylor had <br />no report at this meeting. <br />Mayor Morris introduced the City Council's Report. (1) Mayor <br />Morris stated the Edwards' meeting will be held in San Antonia on <br />June 30 and a Staff member needs to speak. (2) Mayor Morris stated <br />we need to review the temporary business guidelines for possible <br />need to amend. She stated it has been brought to her attention that <br />the barbecue business at Hopkins and Ranch Road 12 is always there, <br />so it is not a temporary business. (3) Mayor Morris stated she <br />wants to see how the City can address vacant lots and abandoned <br />houses. Mr. Mooney stated we may be able to have an Adopt A Lot <br />program where the fraternities clean up the lots if recognized. <br />After the city notifies the property owner and they do not clean up, <br />then we can legally enter property to clean it up. ~ (4) Mayor <br />Morris asked when the Council wants to meet to continue their <br />Planning Meeting. Mr. Gilley was directed to work on a date. <br />Mayor Morris introduced an Executive Session pursuant to Article <br />6252-17, Sections 2(e) and (g), V.A.C.S., to discuss pending <br />litigation (Sierra Club vs. Babbitt; Gumtow vs. City of San Marcos; <br />MacKenzie vs. City of San Marcos; City of San Marcos vs. Freeman <br />Educational Foundation), and matters where the city Attorney's <br />ethical duty to the city clearly conflicts with Article 6252-17; and <br />duties of public officers (Mayor and City Secretary), respectively. <br />Mr. Moore moved the Council adjourn ïnto Executive Session at 10:05 <br />p.m. and Mr. Mooney seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mr. Guerra moved the Council reconvene at 11:44 p.m. and Mr. Moore <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />The meeting adjourned at 11:45 p.m. on motion made by Mr. Guerra and <br />seconded ~ ~yor ~rris. ~ .~ <br /> ~~ <br /> Mayor. <br /> ~~ <br />illy G.
