MARCOS, TEXAS, OF 1.20 ACRES OF LAND OUT OF <br />LOTS 2, 3 AND 8 IN:'BLOCK 2 OF THE KATY ADDITION <br />TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS TO REED AND COMPANY; <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A WARRANTY <br />- > DEED TO REED AND COMPANY; AND DECLARING AN EMER- <br />J , ? ? GENCY . <br />Q <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos, Texas, advertised for bids <br />for the sale of 1.20 acres of land out of Lots 2, 3 and 8 in <br />Block 2 of the Katy Addition to the City of San Marcos, in Hays <br />County, Texas, also known as a part of Urban Renewal Parcel No. <br />10-1, in the San Marcos Record, a local newspaper with a general <br />circulation in the County of Hays, State of Texas, on January <br />11, 1981 and January 18, 1981; and, <br />74 <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to said advertisement a bid was submitted <br />by Reed and Company for said described property in the amount <br />of Thirty Two Thousand, Four Hundred Forty Nine Dollars ($32,449.00); <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, said bid met the minimum disposition price set for <br />said property by the Urban Renewal Board of Commissioners of the <br />City of San Marcos, Texas on December 1, 1975; and <br />WHEREAS, said Board accepted the bid as the highest and best <br />responsible bid for said property on September 15, 1981; and, <br />WHEREAS, said Board recommends the approval of said purchase <br />price and the approval of the terms and conditions for said sale, <br />as contained in the bid document; now, therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS : <br />SECTION 1. That the terms and conditions of the sale by the <br />City of San Marcos, Texas, of 1.20 acres of land out of Lots 2, <br />3 and 8 in Block 2 of the Katy Addition to the City of San Marcos, <br />more particularly described as follows: <br />BEING A PORTION OF LOTS 2, 3 AND 8, BLOCK 2, A POR- <br />TION OF THAT 30 FOOT PRIVATE WAY, AND A PORTION OF <br />THAT TRACT DESIGNATED AS PURGATORY, ALL AS SHOWN <br />BY THE PLAT OF THE KATY ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, A SUBDIVISION OF RECORD IN VOLUME 34, PAGE <br />117, HAYS COUNTY DEED RECORDS, AS CONVEYED TO THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS BY THE URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY OF <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS BY DEED DATED OCTOBER 28, <br />1976, AND RECORDED IN VOLUME 290, PAGE 94, HAYS <br />COUNTY DEED RECORDS, AND BEING MORE PARTICULARLY <br />DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS AS FOLLOWS, TO-WIT: <br />BEGINNING at an iron stake,' found on the West line <br />of McGehee Street, for the most Easterly Southeast <br />corner of the tract herein described, and from <br />which an iron stake at the intersection of the West <br />line of the said McGehee Street with the North line <br />of Cheatham Street, bears, S 09° 37' E, 300.00 feet; <br />THENCE, leaving the said McGehee Street, S 80° 42' <br />W, 160.00 feet to an iron stake found for a re-entrant <br />corner of the tract herein described; <br />THENCE, S 09° 37' E, at 80.00 feet passing an iron <br />stake found at the Northwest corner of that 0.018 <br />acre tract of land described as Tract 2, conveyed to <br />Johnny Finch and James Donnelley by the City of San <br />Marcos, by deed dated November 14, 1979, and recorded
