87 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1981-69R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, CASTING VOTES FOR <br />DIRECTORS OF THE HAYS COUNTY APPRAISAL DIS- <br />TRICT FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING JANUARY 1, <br />1982 AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF SAID CITY <br />TO SUBMIT SAME TO THE COUNTY CLERK OF HAYS <br />COUNTY. <br />WHEREAS, the Texas Property Tax Code provides for an <br />appraisal district in each county of the state to be governed <br />by a board of five directors appointed by vote of the governing <br />bodies of the incorporated cities and towns and the school <br />districts that participate in the district and of the county; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, a director of an appraisal district must be a <br />resident of the district and shall have resided in the district <br />for at least two years immediately preceding the date on which <br />office is taken; and, <br /> <br />0 <br />WHEREAS, Section 6.03(a) of the Property Tax Code expressly <br />provides that an individual who is otherwise eligible to serve <br />on the board is not ineligible because of membership on the <br />governing body of a taxing unit; and, <br />WHEREAS, David Archer, Sylvia Caskey, Ken Conley, Elmer <br />Ferguson, Tol Higginbotham, John A. Kreczmer, W.E. McNair, <br />Mike Moeller, V. Eugene Schwarts and John Stokes have been duly <br />nominated for a position on the Board of Directors of the Hays <br />County Appraisal District; and, <br />WHEREAS, prior to October 30, 1981, the mayor of the City <br />of San Marcos, Texas, received a copy of the ballot duly pre- <br />pared by the county clerk for Hays County, Texas; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos has <br />been notified by the county clerk of Hays County, Texas, that said <br />city is entitled to cast 1070 votes in said election; now, there- <br />fore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE. CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS: <br />PART 1. That the 1070 votes to which the City of San <br />Marcos, Texas, is entitled as a taxing unit pursuant to Section <br />6.03 of the Texas Property Tax Code, be, and the same are here- <br />by, cast for John A. Kreczmer for a position on the board of <br />directors of the Hays County Appraisal District. <br />PART 2. That the Mayor of the City of San Marcos, Texas, <br />be, and she is hereby, authorized to submit this Resolution <br />to Lydell B. Clayton, County Clerk for Hays County, Texas, be- <br />fore November 15, 1981. <br />PART 3.
