Chris Jones recommends asking the City's Communications Director to work on an education <br />piece. He suggested perhaps a one-page white paper with instructions for bar owners who <br />want to move to 2 a.m. bar closing. TABC could facilitate the initiative and Police Administration <br />staff could assist. <br />Chief Williams explains that the Police Department is ready to serve the Downtown if 2 a.m. bar <br />closing is implemented. He will use overtime dollars to fund temporarily (estimated cost $5,700 <br />monthly). 12-hour shifts are being negotiated as part of the Meet and Confer process. <br />Next meeting will be Friday April 24th at 11:30 a.m.
