In total, the Consultant will acquire Mobile LiDAR data for approximately 9,140 linear corridor
feet, or 1.73 corridor miles of roadway. In addition, the Consultant will also collect the ten (10)
alleyways encompassed within the limits described above totaling approximately 5,100 linear
corridor feet, or 0.96 of a corridor mile. The total limits of this Project encompass approximately
2.69 corridor miles.
I. SCOPE OF CONSULTANT'S BASIC SERVICES
The Consultant will:
A. Project Control. Recover existing control provided by the City prior to beginning the
survey as well as check this control for accuracy. After checking the control, the Consultant will
set additional project control that will be utilized throughout the Project. The Consultant will set
monuments for this control in areas where minimal disruption is expected in order for it to be
useful during future surveys of this area. The Consultant will survey this control by conventional
traverse and differential leveling and will calculate final values and provide them in Grid. A
surface scale factor will not be derived by the consultant unless requested by the City.
B. Mobile UDAR Targets. For the purpose of data calibration, set a maximum of 42
mobile LiDAR targets will be set on the site on the pavement, outside of the travelled way.
Mobile LiDAR targets will consist of chevrons painted onto the pavement. Refer to the diagram
below for reference.
The Consultant will survey these targets from the found and set project control by utilizing a mix
of GPS RTK surveying, conventional survey traverse and differential leveling.
C. Ground Truthing. For the purpose of checking the accuracy of the data, collect a
ground truthing cross section half way between mobile LiDAR targets. A maximum of 20 cross
CITY HALL ® 630 EAST HOPKINS ® SAN MARCOS, TEXAS 78666 0 512.393.8150 ® FACSIMILE 855.759.2846
SANMARCOSTX.GOV
4
