Monday, October 26, 2015 5:30 PM City Council Chambers <br />630 E. Hopkins -Appointee Evaluation Follow -Up <br />I. Call To Order <br />With a quorum present, the special meeting of the San Marcos City Council <br />was called to order by Mayor Guerrero at 5:33 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2015 <br />in the City Council Chambers, 630 E. Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas 78666. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Present: 6 - Mayor Daniel Guerrero, Council Member Ryan Thomason, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern <br />Shane Scott, Mayor Pro -Tem Jude Prather, Council Member Lisa Prewitt and <br />Council Member Jane Hughson <br />Absent: 1 - Council Member John Thomaides <br />1. 5:30PM Hold an additional Public Hearing to receive comments for or against <br />Ordinance 2015 -28, on the second of two readings, annexing into the City 417.630 <br />acres of land, more or less, out of the William H. Van Horn Survey, Abstract No. 464, <br />generally located on the east side of IH 35 and south side of Posey Road; approving a <br />service plan for this area; including procedural provisions; and providing an effective <br />date; and consider approval of Ordinance 2015 -28, on second and final reading. <br />Mayor Guerrero explained why we were having an additional Public Hearing. <br />The reason was due to the last Public Hearing being more than 90 days prior to <br />consideration on second reading. <br />Mayor Guerrero opened the Public Hearing at 5:36PM <br />Caren Williams, San Marcos, spoke in favor of this annexation, on behalf of <br />Highpointe Communities and thanked Council and Staff for all of the hard <br />work. <br />There being no further comment. Mayor Guerrero closed the Public Hearing <br />at 5:36PM <br />A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott, seconded by Council <br />Member Thomason, that Ordinance 2015 -28, on second and final reading, be <br />approved.
