Mr. Hart moved <br />to award bid to Diamond Shamrock Refining and Marketing of San <br />Antonio in the maximum amount of $137,495.00 and Mr. Guerra seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration award of bid for a <br />camcorder/editing system for the new Police Headquarters. Ms. <br />Kissler moved to award bid to Barry's Camera and Video of San <br />Antonio in the amount of $9,260.00 and Mr. Guerra seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration award of bid for physical <br />readiness equipment for the new Police Headquarters. Ms. Kissler <br />moved to award bid to Dynaforce Gym Equipment of Talent, Oregan in <br />the amount of $15,434.00 and to H.E.S.T. Fitness Products of San <br />Antonio in the amount of $10,090.00 for a total of $25,524.00 and <br />Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration reaward of bid for office <br />furniture for the new Police Headquarters. Mr. Moore moved to <br />reaward the bid as follows: Item 136 to Office Furniture <br />Distributors in the amount of $3,445.00, Items 142 and 413 to <br />National Business Products in the amount of $1,224.90, Item 144 to <br />Barker Office Furniture in the amount of $518.12, and Items 190, <br />191, 192 and 193 to The Inner Office in the amount of $3,050.68 <br />(which increases the toto I bid award by $925.90), and Ms. Kissler <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced the City Manager's Report. Mr. Gilley <br />advised the Council FEMA has declared the City of San Marcos a <br />disaster area due to recent flooding, and the public will be <br />eligible for financial assistance. Dan O'Leary will be meeting with <br />FEMA to see how to make application for that assistance. <br />Mayor Morris introduced the City Attorney's Report. Mr. Taylor had <br />no report at this meeting. <br />Mayor Morris introduced the City Council's Report. (1) The Lady <br />Bobcats of SWTSU have requested the City Council serve as coaches, <br />and Mayor Morris requested the Council contact Janis Womack to <br />schedule dates. (2) Mayor Morris, Ms. Kissler and Mr. Guerra (Mr. <br />Hernandez to serve as an alternate) have set up a public <br />transportation meeting with Bill Coddington. (3) Governor Richards <br />recently appointed Mayor Morris to serve on a state committee to <br />work on the Block Grant Program. <br />Mayor Morris introduced an Executive Session pursuant to Article <br />6252-17, Sections 2(e) and (f), V.A.C.S., to discuss pending <br />litigation (Helen Rodriguez vs. City of San Marcos, Carol McDonald, <br />Et Al vs. City of San Marcos, Shirley Austin vs. City of San Marcos, <br />Sierra Club vs. Manuel Lujan, Et AI), contemplated litigation and <br />matters where the duty of the City Attorney to the City pursuant to <br />the Code of Professional Responsibility of the State Bar of Texas <br />clearly conflicts with Article 6252-17; purchase of real property <br />and lease of real property, respectively.
