4. Consider CDBG applications and provide direction to staff on proiect(s) to fund with <br />2009 CDBG fund and CDBG-R (stimulus) funds. <br />Laurie Moyer, Assistant City Manager of Community Development, stated the City received <br />$527,130.00 for the CDBG Program and $139,000.00 for CDBG-R Program. She requested <br />directions on projects to fund and what funding source. The City Council reviewed the <br />applications and provided direction to fund Downtown Sidewalk projects. The Council gave <br />directions at a previous City Council Workshop to focus CDBG funds in the Victory Gardens <br />area. The remaining CDBG funding in the amount of $527,130.00 will be approved at the City <br />Council Regular Meeting scheduled June 2, 2009. <br />The City Council moved the remainder of the Meeting to the City Hall Conference Room. <br />5. Discussion on Fiscal Year 2009-2010 Budget and provide direction to staff. <br />The City Council provided directions to prepare a budget using the normal process and to <br />prepare an alternative budget with actual numbers. The City Council stated they will adopt the <br />appropriate budget pending of the Hays County Appraisal and Sales Tax information. The <br />Council gave direction to include in the budget $500.00 a month for compensation ($6,000.00 <br />year) and $12,000.00 for travel reimbursement for City Council and $750.00 a month for <br />compensation ($9,000.00 year) for Mayor and leave travel reimbursement at $16,000.00. <br />6. Question and Answer session with press and public. <br />There were no questions asked by the press or the public. <br />7. Adiournment. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Jones and a second by Councilmember <br />Terry, the City Council voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed (Councilmember Couch left the <br />meeting at 6:00 p.m.), to adjourn the special session of the San Marcos City Council at 8:30 p.m. <br />on Thursday, May 21, 2009.
