4. Consider CDBG applications and provide direction to staff on proiect(s) to fund with 2009 CDBG fund and CDBG-R (stimulus) funds. Laurie Moyer, Assistant City Manager of Community Development, stated the City received $527,130.00 for the CDBG Program and $139,000.00 for CDBG-R Program. She requested directions on projects to fund and what funding source. The City Council reviewed the applications and provided direction to fund Downtown Sidewalk projects. The Council gave directions at a previous City Council Workshop to focus CDBG funds in the Victory Gardens area. The remaining CDBG funding in the amount of $527,130.00 will be approved at the City Council Regular Meeting scheduled June 2, 2009. The City Council moved the remainder of the Meeting to the City Hall Conference Room. 5. Discussion on Fiscal Year 2009-2010 Budget and provide direction to staff. The City Council provided directions to prepare a budget using the normal process and to prepare an alternative budget with actual numbers. The City Council stated they will adopt the appropriate budget pending of the Hays County Appraisal and Sales Tax information. The Council gave direction to include in the budget $500.00 a month for compensation ($6,000.00 year) and $12,000.00 for travel reimbursement for City Council and $750.00 a month for compensation ($9,000.00 year) for Mayor and leave travel reimbursement at $16,000.00. 6. Question and Answer session with press and public. There were no questions asked by the press or the public. 7. Adiournment. MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Jones and a second by Councilmember Terry, the City Council voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed (Councilmember Couch left the meeting at 6:00 p.m.), to adjourn the special session of the San Marcos City Council at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2009.
