Hopkins <br /> I. Call To Order <br /> With a quorum present, the regular meeting of the San Marcos City Council <br /> was called to order by Mayor Guerrero at 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 <br /> in the City Council Chambers, 630 E. Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas 78666. <br /> II. Roll Call <br /> Present: 7- Mayor Daniel Guerrero, Mayor Pro-Tem John Thomaides, Council Member Jude <br /> Prather, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Lisa Prewitt, Council Member Jane Hughson, <br /> Council Member Melissa Derrick and Council Member Scott Gregson <br /> III. Invocation <br /> Ben Nelson,with San Marcos Episcopal, provided this evening's invocation. <br /> IV. Pledges Of Allegiance - United States And Texas <br /> Jose Vallejo, a student from the Texas Preparatory School and member of the <br /> Torch Club Leadership program at the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central <br /> Texas led this evening's pledges. <br /> 6:00 PM <br /> V. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br /> Lisa Marie Coppoletta, addressed the Council regarding a shovel test out at <br /> Cape's Camp and stated that she is only bringing this up for what is going on <br /> downtown. She stated that she is troubled by where this dirt is going, and her <br /> concern of the remains or artifacts of Native Americans' being disturbed. She <br /> also asked if the City would consider having a public access channel and a <br /> Smart Meter opt out program. <br /> Joe Ptak, thanked the Council for creating a more artistic community over the <br /> last couple of years. He asked for support to have a public access radio station <br /> and stated that he would be providing a schedule of Artistic events in the <br /> community. He said that there are so many artistic events in the community <br /> that people are unaware of. He also mentioned that this public access radio <br /> City of San Marcos Page 1 <br />
