Call To Order With a quorum present, the regular meeting of the San Marcos City Council was called to order by Mayor Guerrero at 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in the City Council Chambers, 630 E. Hopkins, San Marcos, Texas 78666. II. Roll Call Present: 7- Mayor Daniel Guerrero, Mayor Pro-Tem John Thomaides, Council Member Jude Prather, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Lisa Prewitt, Council Member Jane Hughson, Council Member Melissa Derrick and Council Member Scott Gregson III. Invocation Ben Nelson,with San Marcos Episcopal, provided this evening's invocation. IV. Pledges Of Allegiance - United States And Texas Jose Vallejo, a student from the Texas Preparatory School and member of the Torch Club Leadership program at the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Texas led this evening's pledges. 6:00 PM V. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period Lisa Marie Coppoletta, addressed the Council regarding a shovel test out at Cape's Camp and stated that she is only bringing this up for what is going on downtown. She stated that she is troubled by where this dirt is going, and her concern of the remains or artifacts of Native Americans' being disturbed. She also asked if the City would consider having a public access channel and a Smart Meter opt out program. Joe Ptak, thanked the Council for creating a more artistic community over the last couple of years. He asked for support to have a public access radio station and stated that he would be providing a schedule of Artistic events in the community. He said that there are so many artistic events in the community that people are unaware of. He also mentioned that this public access radio City of San Marcos Page 1
