<br />4 <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting July 10, 1995 Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced the city Manager's Report. (1) Mr. Gilley <br />requested Laura Huffman report on the Heritage Neighborhood <br />Association meeting. Mrs. Huffman advised she and steve Jenkins <br />attended the meeting two weeks ago to discuss the placement of stop <br />signs, speed humps and prohibiting truck traffic through the <br />neighborhoods. Mr. Jenkins stated sight distance is restricted for <br />traffic on Highland Terrace to enter Brown street. Another option <br />would be to square off the intersection. The Council directed staff <br />to look at the Highland Terrace/Brown street intersection again. <br />The Council directed Staff place the stop signs requested by the - <br />neighborhood. Mrs. Huffman advised speed humps are budgeted to ' <br />begin next year with the placement of ten on San Antonio street at <br />an estimated amount of $1,000 each. (2) Mr. Gilley reminded the <br />Council the budget schedule has been distributed to each of them <br />and the Budget Workshops are set for August 7 and 8. (3) Mayor <br />Morris requested Mr. Gilley look into enforcing the prohibition of <br />trucks on Invasion Street. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced the City Attorney's Report. Mr. Taylor had <br />no report at this meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced the city Council's Report. (1) Mr.' <br />Hernandez stated a stop light is needed in the Victbry Gardens area <br />at Roosevelt and Guadalupe. The State has been requested to do a <br />study of this intersection. Mr. Hernandez stated many residents <br />have been frustrated trying to leave the neighborhood. (2) Mr. <br />Mooney stated the Great American Race activities on Sunday were <br />exceptional. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced an Executive Session pursuant to the <br />Government Code, section 551.071, to discuss pending litigation <br />(Sierra Club vs. Babbitt) and matters where the City Attorney's <br />ethical duty to the City clearly conflicts with Government Code <br />Chapter 551; and section 551.072 and-551.073, to discuss purchase of <br />real property. Mr. Guerra moved to adjourn into Executive Session <br />at 8:16 p.m. and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Guerra moved to reconvene at 9:21 p.m. and Mr. Mooney seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:22 p.m. on motion made by Mr. Hernandez <br />and seconded by Mr. Mooney. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />M.
