City of San Marcos
Water Reuse System
Asset Management Plan
LOF and COF components were selected by San Marcos staff in a workshop held on February
17, 2016, to form a risk matrix specifically for San Marcos reuse system. Table 5.1 shows a
summary of the LOF and COF risk matrix components chosen for the reuse system facility
assets and Table 5.2 provides the LOF and COF components for the reuse pipeline assets.
The staff also determined the specific weights that should be applied to each component in the
overall risk analysis. Detailed scoring tables defining the source of data and methodology were
then developed for input into the APAI Risk Model.
City of San Marcos
Asset Management Plan
Risk Assessment - Reuse Water Assets
LIKELIHOOD OF FAILURE COMPONENTS
100
Comnonent Weiaht
1
Staff opinion of condition
15
2
Reactive Repair History (Work orders /
ear
15
3
Age (yr)
15
4
Duty (hrs /day or year)
15
5
Maintenance Requirements (WO)
15
6
Redundancy
25
I CONSEQUENCE OF FAILURE COMPONENTS II
1 100 II
Comnonent Weia
1
Utility employees health and safety
35
2
Utility - Loss of revenue
20
3
Utility - Repair cost
20
4
Effluent quality
25
Table 5.1 - San Marcos Reuse System Facility Assets Relative Risk Matrix
February 2016 Page 25
