<br />19 <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />July 24, 1995 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />there would be a budget workshop on August 7th from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. to review the <br />budget and also on August 8th from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. The Council directed the City <br />Secretary to publish notice of the formal public hearing and asked that a, copy of the <br />proposed budget be made available at the Public Library. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro-Tem Mooney introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption <br />of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE MASTER <br />PLAN OF THE CITY, FROM HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO <br />COMMERCIAL FOR A 0.8 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT <br />1701 IH 35 NORTH AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro-Tem Mooney opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. <br />Mr. Jim Cunningham spoke on behalf of Mr. Rajesh B. Patel. Mr. Guerra asked where this <br />property is located. Mr. Cunningham stated the property is next to the Conoco and near <br />the Best Western Motel. No one else wished to speak, so Mayor Pro-Tem Mooney closed <br />the public hearing. Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Moore <br />seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro-Tem Mooney introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a <br />Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE MASTER <br />PLAN OF THE CITY, FROM OPEN SPACE/FLOODPLAIN TO INDUSTRIAL <br />FOR A 0.48 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE <br />INTERSECTION OF VALLEY STREET AND FREDERICKSBURG STREET <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro-Tem Mooney opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wisheo to speak. <br />No one wished to speak, so Mayor Pro-Tem Mooney closed the public hearing. Mr. Moore <br />asked Mr. Taylor if the City had a true and correct boundary survey of this property. Mr. <br />Moore stated the property description had been in some dispute a while back. Mr. Guerra <br />moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion which <br />passed unanimously. Mr. Taylor stated there was a correct survey and there had been <br />some discrepancies but the surveyor had corrected them and the correct survey is being <br />used for this change. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro-Tem Mooney introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption <br />of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE <br />CITY BY REZONING A 0.14 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT <br />203 STAPLES ROAD FROM "M" SINGLE-FAMILY, DUPLEX AND <br />NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS DISTRICT TO "MR" MOBILE HOME AND <br />RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro-Tem Mooney opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. <br />No one wished to speak so Mayor Pro-Tem Mooney closed the public hearing. Mayor Pro- <br />Tem Mooney stated since this was denied by the Planning and Zoning Commission it <br />would take six votes of approval and there were only five present and he would request <br />that this item be tabled.
