<br />WE, THE UNDERSIGNED BUSINESSMEN, BUSINESSWOMEN AND CITIZENS OF SAN
<br />MARCOS, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS DO HEREBY PETITION THE MAYOR AND CITY
<br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS FOR REDRESS OF
<br />GRlEV ANCE.

<br />TO WIT, WHEREAS, the City Ordinance 1991-53, hereafter termed the Sewer Surcharge Ordi-
<br />nance, signed and promulgated into law on April 26, 1993 imposes an onerous burden on com-
<br />mercial, governmental and institutional entities operating within the City of San Marco.s and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, serious discrepancies in enforcement exist when the second most heavily sur-
<br />charged business in the City is a taco stand having three tables and open only five hours per day
<br />while much a much larger institution of higher learning suffers no surcharge and,
<br />
<br />i WHEREAS, any business or commercial entity, nonprofit organization, educational or institu-
<br />tional entity; any entity other than a household; is subject to the burdens of the Sewer Surcharge
<br />Ordinance,
<br />
<br />WE PEfITION, the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Marcos, Hays County, Texas to
<br />repeal the Sewer Surcharge Ordinance, to cease collecting surcharges imposed by such ordi-
<br />nance, and to refund all surcharges collected to date.
