<br /> 13 <br /> RESOLUTION 1994- 11 2R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOSr TEXAS APPROVING A LIST OF PROJECT <br /> PRIORITIES IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT <br /> OF TRANSPORTATIONrS 1995-97 RURAL TRANSPORTATION <br /> IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR THE AUSTIN DISTRICT; <br /> APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE <br /> TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION; AND DECLARING <br /> AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br /> 1. The Texas Department of Transportation <br />(IITXDOTII) receives federal assistance under the Intermodal <br />Surface Transportation Efficiency Act (II ISTEA II). <br /> 2. TXDOT has developed a 1995-97 Rural <br />Transportation Improvement Program for the Austin District <br />which outlines the federally funded projects tentatively <br />scheduled for construction between October 1r 1994 and <br />September 30r 1997. <br /> 3. One of the ISTEA requirements is that TXDOT <br />provide affected public agencies with the opportunity to <br />comment on the proposed Transportation Improvement Program <br />(11 TIP II) . <br /> ~ <br /> 4. In order to comply with this requirementr <br />TXDOT will hold a public hearing in the Bastrop County <br />Commissioners Courtroom to provide the public with an <br />opportunity to comment on the TIP. <br /> 5. The TIP currently lists six projects in Hays <br />County. <br /> 6. The City of San Marcos (IICityll) wishes to <br />provide TXDOT with a list of projects that it has determined <br />will be most beneficial to the welfare of the San Marcos <br />community. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. That the following list of projects, <br />ranked in order of importance, is approved: <br /> 1st: Railroad Overpass <br /> 2nd: Hunter Road Widening to Five Lane <br /> 3rd: Center Point Overpass Widening <br /> 4th: CARTS Full-City Trolley System <br /> PART 2. That the submission of this resolution to <br />the Texas Department of Transportation for its consideration <br />at the July 21st public meeting is approved. <br /> PART 3.
