Mr. Moore stated SWTSU could possibly assist SMCISD on <br />developing the youth portion of the Master Plan. The city council <br />agreed by consensus to have a representative of the School District <br />on the Master Plan Committee and at a future time will set up a <br />Joint Workshop of the SMCISb Board of Trustees and City Council to <br />discuss Broadway street. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced the city Manager's Report. Mr. Gilley had <br />no report at this meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor,Morris introduced the City Attorney's Report. Mr. Taylor had <br />no report at this meeting., <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced the 'city Council's Report. (1) Mr. Moore <br />advised the Council the TML Community and Economic Development <br />Committee met today in Austin. (2) Mayor Morris requested Staff to <br />present an update where we are with the Youth Curfew Ordinance. (3) <br />Mayor Morris requested the Council be provided an update regarding <br />crime and violence in the community, how we are dealing with it and <br />if it is escalating. Mr. Gilley stated he could provide,statistics <br />and how the City is proactively dealing with crime prevention. (4) <br />Mr. Cox advised the Council the second public hearing had been held <br />regarding the Drainage Master Plan. He said there was good <br />participation with a range of projects identified and ways to fund. <br />It was suggested the City contact SWT on some areas for cooperation <br />of drainage issues. (5) Mr. Cox stated he represented the city at <br />Jackson Chapel Church, and there had been an informative health <br />discussion on Saturday, and he also attended dinner at DeZavala. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced an Executive Session pursuant to the <br />Government Code, Section 551.071, to discuss pending litigation (San <br />Marcos Joint Venture vs. City of San Marcos; Sierra Club vs. <br />Babbitt), contemplated litigation, and matters where the City <br />Attorney's ethical duty to the city clearly conflicts with <br />Government Code Chapter 551; and sections 551.072 and 551.073, to <br />discuss purchase of real property, value of real property and <br />negotiated contracts for prospective gifts or donations to the city. <br />Mr. Guerra moved the Council adjourn into Executive Session at 10:31 <br />p.m. and Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Mooney moved the Council reconvene at 11:54 p.m. and Mr. Moore <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 11:55 <br />seconded by Mr. Moore. <br /> <br />PTi;:;tion 1~lad1e [b~ ~Mr. c~x and <br />~t/l/ ~ LtL/1 l l - I ~!
