<br /> 67 <br />Regular Meeting February 14, 1994 Page 6 <br />Mayor Morris introduced the city Manager's Report. (1) Mr. Gilley <br />advised Linda Spacek is the employee of the month. (2) Mr. Gilley <br />stated the city is soliciting applications for Assistant city <br />Manager and have received 110. (3) Mr. Gilley stated Staff will <br />assist the Recreation Facility Task Force PAC in providing them with <br />information regarding the bonded indebtedness. (4) Mr. Gilley <br />advised fairness is critical in establishing the sewer surcharge, <br />and under those guidelines Janie's Gorditas is a temporary business i <br />and does not pay a sewer surcharge. All restaurants have to comply I <br />with Health Codes. (5) Messrs. Cox and Mooney asked where the <br />sales tax funds go, and were advised towards reduction of the tax <br />rate. (6) Mr. Cox asked about a drainage ditch problem and was <br />advised the city is working with SWT regarding this matter. <br />Mayor Morris introduced the city Attorney's Report. Mr. Taylor <br />recently attended a meeting regarding civil service in San Antonio <br />by the Texas Municipal League and stated Larry Kendrick was one of <br />the speakers and by far was the most interesting. <br />Mayor Morris introduced the city Council's Report. (1) Mr. Plummer <br />stated he has not been able to attend CVB meetings at the times they <br />are scheduled because it conflicts with his work. Mr. Hart has <br />agreed to attend the meetings on behalf of the Citý. (2) Mayor <br />Morris attended a NLC FAIR Meeting in Washington. She stated crimes <br />and violence were at the top of their agenda. <br />Mayor Morris introduced an Executive Session pursuant to the <br />Government Code, section 551.071, to discuss pending litigation <br />(Sierra Club vs. Babbitt) and matters where the City Attorney's <br />ethical duty to the City clearly conflicts with Government Code, <br />Chapter 551; and sections 551.072 and 551.073, to discuss value of <br />real property. Mr. Mooney moved to adjourn into Executive session <br />at 11:05 p.m. and Mr. Plummer seconded, the motion, which passed <br />unanimously (Mr. Moore not present to vote but attended Executive <br />Session). <br />Mr. Moore moved to reconvene at 12:33 a.m. and Mr. Mooney seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />The meeting adjourned at 12:33 a.m. on motion made by Mr. Moore and <br />seconded by Mr. Mooney. ~WLJV1 nil, rN1W¡ <br /> Kathy M.
