10 <br />Regular Meeting June 9, 1997 <br />Page 9 <br />Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Hart seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was <br />read as follows: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING A CORRECTION DEED FOR <br />EASEMENTS FOR THE CITY'S ELECTRIC UTILITY SYSTEM FROM <br />THE LOWER COLORADO RIVER AUTHORITY; AUTHORIZING <br />THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE DEED; AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mr. Cox moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Hart seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was <br />read as follows: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING A REALLOCATION <br />OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Ms. Hughson moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Hart seconded the motion. <br />Ms. Hughson asked Mr. Gilley about the amount of funds remaining regarding Substandard <br />Structure Removal. Mr. Gilley stated more people have removed substandard structures <br />voluntarily leaving funds left over. Mr. Patterson stated they still have a handful and they <br />have $25,000 in this program to go ahead and.take care of the ones which are going <br />through the court process. Ms. Hughson asked if money was set aside for junk car <br />removal. Mr. Gilley stated yes and they are working to deal with wrecker services to save <br />funds. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was <br />read as follows: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, ADOPTING A POLICY FOR NAMING CITY <br />PARKS AND FACILITIES; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mr. Guerra moved for adoption and Mr. Mihalkanin seconded the motion. Ms. Hughson <br />questioned the phrase in Part 1. "Only names submitted by the City Manager shall be <br />considered" and in Part 6, "Nominations should be sent to the board, commission or <br />department having jurisdiction over the facility". Ms. Hughson asked what would be the <br />procedure. Mr. Gilley stated names could be submitted directly to him and to send them <br />to the City Council if there was no board. Ms. Hughson moved to amend Part 3, to strike <br />out the word "Generally" and in Part 5, the second sentence strike out the word "should" <br />and replace with the word "must". Mr. Mihalkanin seconded the motion. The motion to <br />amend the Resolution passed unanimously.
