<br />86 <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting July 14, 1997 Page 5 <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Mihalkanin moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Cox <br />seconded the motion. Mr. Gilley stated this was a reasonable <br />request of a timing issue regarding the City's installation of a <br />waterline. The Council voted unanimously for adoption of the <br />Resolution. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, <br />, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING THE SALE OF A 61.23 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY <br />LOCATED ADJACENT TO THE HAYS COUNTY CIVIC CENTER BY HAYS <br />COUNTY, TRUSTEE¡ AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Mihalkani~ moved for adoption of the Resolution and Ms. Hughson <br />seconded the motion. Mr. Gilley advised the property adjacent to <br />this tract is being developed and they want to negotiate with the <br />buyer of this property for a drainage easement and right-of-way for <br />a street. Mr. Patterson advised this access would enhance this <br />property. Mr. Hart stated it would be short sighted to sell this <br />property now with a street being developed which would provide <br />access for this property. Duane Force of the law offices of Calame, <br />Linebarger, Graham & Penal stated if the City gets ~OO% recovery of <br />what is owing, we would have to accept the bid. Mr. Gilley stated <br />the City needs to meet with the County and School District and <br />attorneys involved to develop a process for selling this tract. The <br />Council voted unanimously to deny this Resolution. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF FOUR VEHICLES FOR THE POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT THROUGH THE HOUSTON-GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL OF <br />GOVERNMENTS COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM¡ AUTHORIZING THE <br />PURCHASING MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE PURCHASING <br />DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Mihalkanin moved for adoption of the Resolution and Ms. Hughson <br />seconded the motion. Acting Chief Nelson advised the City is <br />replacing five police cars this year, and Mr. Gilley advised he <br />would find out how many are being replaced each year. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING THE FORM AND CONTENT OF NOTICE OF THE CITY'S <br />INTENTION TO ISSUE WATERWORKS AND SEWER SYSTEM REVENUE BONDS; <br />RATIFYING, CONFIRMING AND APPROVING PUBLICATION OF SUCH NOTICE <br />AND DIRECTING THE SECOND PUBLICATION THEREOF; AND CONTAINING <br />OTHER PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT. <br /> <br />Mr. Hernandez moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Cox <br />seconded the motion. Ms. Hughson moved to amend the Resolution to <br />. - change the amount of waterworks and sewer system revenue bonds not <br />to exceed $2,500,000.00 and Mayor Moore seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. The Council voted unanimously for adoption of <br />the Resolution. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, POSTPONING THE ISSUANCE OF REVENUE BONDS. <br /> <br />Mr. Hernandez moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Cox <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro-Tern Hart introduced for consideration adoption of a <br />Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: <br />
