Call To Order <br /> With a quorum present, the regular meeting of the San Marcos City Council <br /> was called to order by Mayor Pro Tem Thomaides at 6:01p.m.Monday, <br /> November 21,2016 in the City Council Chambers, 630 E. Hopkins, San <br /> Marcos, Texas 78666. <br /> II. Roll Call <br /> 1. Consider approval of Ordinance 2016-53, on first and final reading, canvassing returns and <br /> declaring results of the General Election, held on November 8, 2016, for the purpose of <br /> electing a Mayor, City Council Member, Place One, City Council Member, Place Two, and a <br /> Special Election to fill a vacancy for the one year remainder of the unexpired term of City <br /> Council Member, Place Three which was conducted concurrently with the General Election; <br /> ordering a Runoff Election for the positions of Mayor, City Council Member, Place Two and <br /> City Council Member, Place Three, for December 13, 2016; establishing early voting locations <br /> and polling places for this Election; making provisions for conducting the Election; declaring <br /> an emergency creating the need to adopt this Ordinance with only one reading; and providing <br /> an effective date. <br /> A motion was made by Mayor Pro-Tem Thomaides, seconded by Council <br /> Member Gregson,that Ordinance 2016-53 be approved. The motion carried by <br /> the following vote: <br /> Ill. Question and Answer Session with Press and Public. <br /> None. <br /> IV.
