RESOLUTION 2016-171R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE EXPENDITURE OF $9,600.00 <br /> FROM THE PERMANENT ART FUND FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO <br /> PIECES OF PERMANENT DISPLAY ART FOR PLACEMENT ON CITY <br /> PROPERTY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br /> RECITALS <br /> 1. In its September 21, 2016 meeting, The Arts Commission selected two pieces of <br /> permanent display art for purchase and placement on City property. <br /> 2. Chapter 2,Administration,Division 16,Arts Commission, Section 2.361 (e)of the San <br /> Marcos Code of Ordinances requires that the City Council make the final decision on the funding <br /> and location of permanent display art. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. The expenditure of approximately $9,600.00 for the purchase of sculptures <br /> "Mark" and "Becky" by artist, Lauren Seldon, for placement at the Activity Center/Library <br /> Complex Sculpture Garden is approved. <br /> PART 2. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to disburse the approved funds <br /> for the purchase of the permanent display art as detailed above in accordance with the City's <br /> purchasing policies and requirements. <br /> PART 3.
