Mr. Cox moved to reappoint Dr. Betty Kissler, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration three appointments to the Human Services Advisory <br />Board. Mayor Moore moved to reappoint Frances Perez and Nina Pryatel, which passed <br />unanimously. Mayor Moore requested the final appointment be made at the next Council <br />meeting. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration ten appointments to the Convention and Visitors <br />Bureau. Mayor Moore moved to appoint Rick Hernandez and Jane Hughson as the Council <br />Representatives, Mr. Mihalkanin moved to appoint Rob Robinson as the Downtown <br />Representative, Ms. Hughson moved to appoint Shilpa Amin for the Hotel Industry and Linda <br />Kelsey Jones for the Arts Community, Mr. Hart moved to appoint Susan Narvaiz for the <br />Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Guerra stated he would make his appointment at the next <br />meeting, Mr. Cox moved to appoint Paul Mayhew for the Neighborhood Association and Mr. <br />Hernandez moved to appoint Elizabeth Ferguson for the Hospitality Industry and Curtis <br />Parkerson for the Heritage Association, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration an appointment to the Capital Area Housing Finance <br />Corporation to replace Tess Norris. Mayor Moore moved to appoint Fred Markham, which <br />passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />A 0.29 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 509 MILL STREET FROM "M" <br />SINGLE-FAMILY, DUPLEX AND NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS DISTRICT TO <br />"MR" MOBILE HOME AND RESIDENTIAI, DISTRICT; INCLUDING <br />PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. Pamela Walker <br />stated she is the applicant for the zoning change and would be placing a double wide mobile <br />home on the property. She also stated there is currently a mobile home on the property next <br />door. There were no other speakers so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. There were no <br />speakers so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the <br />Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Hart seconded the motion. Mr. Cox stated this was mostly "R-1 " <br />neighborhood with the exception of a mobile home across the street. He asked if this was to be <br />rental property. Ms. Hughson stated the Planning and Zoning Commission was trying to phase <br />out mobile rental in this area. Mr. Patterson stated when the applicant applied for the zoning <br />change he stated he would be living in the mobile home; however, it is now his intention to rent <br />the property. Mr. Hernandez moved to table the item until the next meeting so the staff can <br />determine the applicants true intention and Mr. Cox seconded the motion.
