(1) Mike Dishman <br />¡ <br /> stated he wants the Council to reconsider extended hours for bars. <br /> He stated Billy Moore was temporarily off the Council the week <br /> the Council voted on this issue, and he wants the Council to resolve <br /> this issue with a full Council vote. (2) Debbie Espinoza, President <br /> of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, invited the Council to attend a <br /> breakfast on Friday, July 26 at the Hyatt in Austin, honoring the <br /> San Marcos Hispanic Chamber of Commerce with the 1996 Small City <br /> Chamber of the Year Award. Ms. Espinoza stated if the Council had <br /> questions regarding their proposal, to contact Lydia Marie Trevino <br /> of the Hispanic Chamber. (3) Jeff Jorgensen stated he was applying <br /> for a loan from the HUD funding to start a business in the incubator <br /> to make juice. This matter will be discussed later in this agenda. <br /> Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of one appointment <br /> to the Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals. There were no <br /> nominations, and this appointment will be rescheduled. <br /> Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of one appointment <br /> to complete a vacancy on the Cemetery Commission. Mr. Mihalkanin <br /> moved to appoint Helen VanGundy, which passed unanimously. <br /> Mayor Moore introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance on <br /> emergency, the caption which was read as follows: <br />! ! <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />, : TEXAS, AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET ORDINANCE FOR THE 1995-1996 <br />I , <br /> -' FISCAL YEAR TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR THE HERITAGE NEIGHBORHOOD <br /> HISTORIC RESOURCES STUDY AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> Ms. Hughson moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and Mr. <br /> Cox seconded the motion. This amendment is to put in place funds <br /> for a match grant. The Council voted unanimously for adoption of <br /> the Ordinance on emergency. <br /> * Laura Huffman not present at this meeting. <br />
