' <br /> ; <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration Item 7.D.(5) removed from the consensus agenda, <br />adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPOINTING PRESIDING JUDGES AND ALTERNATE JUDGES TO <br />SERVE IN A JOINT GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION BY THE CITY, TO BE <br />HELD ON MAY 4, 1996; CHARGING THE JUDGES WITH THE DUTY TO HOLD <br />THIS ELECTION IN THEIR RESPECTIVE POLLING PLACES FOR EACH <br />RESPECTIVE PRECINCT; APPOINTING AN EARLY VOTING BALLOT BOARD; <br />APPOINTING A PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, A <br />TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING-STATION, AND A <br />CENTRAL COUNTING STATION MANAGER; APPROVING THE APPOINT:MENT <br />BY THE PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION OF <br />CERTAIN CLERKS; APPROVING THE APPOINT:MENT BY THE TABULATION <br />SUPERVISOR OF CERTAIN ASSISTANTS; APPROVING THE APPOINT:MENT BY <br />THE EARLY VOTING CLERK OF CERTAIN DEPUTY EARLY VOTING CLERKS, <br />AND DECLARING AL'T EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mr. Cox moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion. Mayor <br />Morris moved to amend the Resolution to add Ruth H:oward as Alternate Judge to Precinct 116 <br />and Mr. Mooney seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Council then voted ~_. <br />unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. <br />Mayor Morris introduced the City Manager's Report. Mr. Gilley had no report. <br />Mayor Morris introduced the City Attorney's Report. Mr. Taylor had no report. <br />Mayor Morris introduced the City Council's Report. Mayor Morris stated for the record the <br />meeting date in March had been changed to correspond with spring break, not the National <br />League of Cities Committee Meeting. <br />Mayor Morris introduced an Executive Session pursuant to the Government Code, Section <br />551.071, to discuss pending litigation (Sierra Club vs. Babbitt; Kencon Constructors vs. City of <br />San Marcos).
