City Council Meeting Minutes March 3,2017 <br /> Tract for the expansion of the Purgatory Creek natural area at a price of $632,000.00; <br /> authorizing the Interim City Manager to execute said agreement and related closing <br /> documents on behalf of the City; authorizing the Interim City Manager or her designee <br /> to submit a grant application to the U.S. fish and Wildlife Service, Ecological Services <br /> program for a grant in the amount of $2,272,500.00 to fund the purchase of the <br /> remaining 152 acres out of said Wildenthal Tract for further expansion of the <br /> Purgatory Creek natural area, and to execute any and all documents necessary to <br /> accept such grant if awarded; and declaring an effective date. <br /> The Council received Staff briefings and held discussion regarding items on the <br /> agenda for March 7,2017 Regular City Council Meeting, to wit Items (3-21). <br /> Item #4 Kevin Burke, provided the Council with a brief update of what Staff <br /> was working on. Staff will send out the action items in the parking initiative. <br /> Council provided interest regarding the provision of information regarding <br /> shuttle service and that cost to offer to employees downtown shuttle service. <br /> Staff will bring back the cost of shuttling at the same time as other information. <br /> Staff will work with the Convention and Visitors Bureau regarding the Edward <br /> Gary St garage. Staff will notify Council when Staff has begun working with <br /> downtown property owners about employee parking programs. <br /> Item #16 Staff notified the Council that this item was pulled and will not be on <br /> the March 7,2017 agenda. <br /> Item #20 Staff will provide a service area map. <br /> 2. Executive Session in accordance with § 551.072 - Real Property: to receive a Staff <br /> briefing and deliberate regarding the possible acquisition of real property in the <br /> downtown area for parking purposes. <br /> A motion was made by Council Member Mihalkanin, seconded by Council <br /> Member Gonzales,that the Council enter Executive Session at 12:50 p.m. <br /> Council Member Gregson abstained from the executive session to avoid the <br /> appearance of impropriety. The motion carried by the following vote: <br /> For: 6- Mayor Thomaides, Mayor Pro-Tem Hughson, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Prewitt, <br /> Council Member Mihalkanin, Council Member Gonzales and Council Member <br /> Derrick <br /> Against: 0 <br /> Abstain: 1 - Council Member Gregson <br /> 3.
