<br /> Library Improvements in the aggregate principal amount of $14,750,000 for May 6,
<br /> 2017; establishing Early Voting Locations and Polling Places for this Election; making
<br /> provisions for conducting the Election; and resolving other matters related to such
<br /> Election; and providing an effective date.
<br /> Main Motion: a motion was made by Council Member Gregson, seconded by
<br /> Mayor Pro-Tem Hughson,to approve Ordinance 2017-06,on the second of two
<br /> readings.
<br /> Motion to Amend: a motion was made by Mayor Pro-Tem Hughson, seconded
<br /> by Council Member Mihalkanin,to amend Section 13 by adding the following:
<br /> (j) Of the outstanding principal amount totaling $265,805,000 mentioned in
<br /> item (g) above, only$75,000,000 is programmed to be paid directly from ad
<br /> valorem property taxes. The remaining $190,805,000 is programmed to be
<br /> paid for from other revenue sources such as reimbursements from the
<br /> water/wastewater revenues,electric revenues, drainage revenues, hotel/motel
<br /> taxes and external entities such as the State of Texas and the Embassy Suites
<br /> Hotel.
<br /> (k) Of the outstanding principal amount totaling$88,669,770.52 mentioned in
<br /> item (h) above, only $23,897,668.60 is programmed to be paid directly from ad
<br /> valorem property taxes. The remaining $64,772,101.92 is programmed to be
<br /> paid for from other revenue sources such as reimbursements from the
<br /> water/wastewater revenues, electric revenues, drainage revenues, hotel/motel
<br /> taxes and external entities such as the State of Texas and the Embassy Suites
<br /> Hotel. The motion carried by the following vote:
<br /> For: 7- Mayor Thomaides, Council Member Gonzales, Mayor Pro-Tern Hughson, Council
<br /> Member Derrick, Council Member Gregson, Council Member Mihalkanin and
<br /> Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Prewitt
<br /> Against: 0
<br /> Motion to Amend: a motion was made by Mayor Thomaides,seconded by
<br /> Mayor Pro-Tem Hughson,to amend by renaming the Propositions: City Public
<br /> Safety Proposition and City Library Proposition. The motion carried by the
<br /> following vote:
<br /> For: 7- Mayor Thomaides, Council Member Gonzales, Mayor Pro-Tern Hughson, Council
<br /> Member Derrick, Council Member Gregson, Council Member Mihalkanin and
<br /> Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Prewitt
<br /> Against: 0
