97. MINUTES OF THE EMERGENCY MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, OCTOBER 14, 1999 PRESENT: Mayor Billy G. Moore Mayor Pro-Tem Ed Mihalkanin Council Members Jane Hughson Louis Doiron, Jr. * Earl Moseley, Jr. * Joe B. Cox, Jr. Rick Hernandez City Manager * Larry Gilley Deputy City Manager * Laura Huffman City Secretary Janis K. Womack City Attorney Mark Taylor Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. Mayor Moore introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, NOMINATING A CANDIDATE FOR THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE HAYS COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2000; DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO SUBMIT THE NAME OF THE NOMINEE TO THE CHIEF APPRAISER OF THE HAYS COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Ms. Hughson moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Mihalkanin seconded the motion. Mr. Mihalkanin moved to amend the Resolution to place the name of Jane Hughson in nomination as a candidate for the Board of Directors for the Hays County Appraisal District and Mr. Doiron seconded the motion. On roll call of the amendment the following vote was recorded: AYE: Mihalkanin, Doiron, Moore, Hernandez. NAY: None. ABSTAIN: Hughson. On roll call for adoption of the Resolution the following vote was recorded: AYE: Mihalkanin, Doiron, Moore, Hernandez. NAY: None. ABSTAIN: Hughson. The meeting adjourned at 4:42 p.m. on motion made by Mr. Mihalkanin and seconded by Ms. Hughson. \)~~.~ Billy G. Moore Mayor * Messrs. Moseley and Cox were not present at this meeting.
