ORDINANCE NO. 2017-19 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS AMENDING THE TERM LIMIT OF KEY <br />CONSTITUENCY REPRESENTATIVES IN CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 3, <br />DIVISION 24, SECTION 2.370.26, SAN MARCOS COMMISSION ON <br />CHILDREN AND YOUTH; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />SECTION 1. Section 2.370.26 of the San Marcos City Code pertaining to the San Marcos <br />Commission on Children and Youth are hereby amended to read as follows (Added text is <br />indicated by underlining. Deleted text is indicated by stfikethfough ): <br />Sec. 2.370.26. San Marcos Commission on Children and Youth; established; <br />composition; appointment of representatives. <br />(a) The San Marcos Commission on Children and Youth is hereby <br />established. The Commission shall consist of 17 voting members, 15 members and <br />two ex -officio members. The two ex -officio members shall be the City Council <br />Member and SMCISD Board Trustee. The commission shall have representation <br />by individuals who hold elected or executive level positions with the following <br />partners, who will provide a letter of nomination accompanied by the individual's <br />commission application: <br />(1) City of San Marcos. <br />(2) San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District. <br />(3) United Way of Hays County. <br />(4) Texas State University. <br />(5) Hays County. <br />(6) Austin Community College. <br />(7) Central Texas Medical Center. <br />(8) Greater San Marcos Partnership. <br />(9) San Marcos Youth Commission Chair. <br />(10) San Marcos City Council Member, ex -officio. <br />(11) SMCISD Board Trustee, ex -officio. <br />Eaeh The city council membe shall appoint one seven at -large key constituency <br />group representatives. The seven at -large members appointed shall endeavor to <br />represent ei=key constituency groups in the community to include: <br />• Family Member — through parent and guardian groups such as <br />PTO/PTA/Booster Clubs/Home School Association. <br />• Youth service providers. <br />1 <br />
