RESOLUTION 2017-114R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF A <br /> JOINT ELECTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS AND HAYS COUNTY FOR THE HOLDING OF A JOINT <br /> ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 7, 2017; AUTHORIZING THE INTERIM <br /> CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF <br /> THE CITY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY CLERK <br /> TO NEGOTIATE MINOR REVISIONS TO THIS AGREEMENT; AND <br /> DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> RECITALS: <br /> 1. The City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, finds and determines that it is <br /> in the best interest of the City to cooperate with Hays County (the "County") in holding a joint <br /> election on November 7,2017. <br /> 2. Hays County is willing to participate in holding a joint election on thatdate. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. The attached Joint Election Agreement between the City of San Marcos and <br /> Hays County for holding a joint election on November 7, 2017 is approved. <br /> PART 2. The Interim City Manager, Charles Daniels, is authorized to execute The Joint <br /> Election Agreement in substantially the same form as is attached to this Resolution on behalf of <br /> the City. <br /> PART 3. The City Manager and the City Clerk are authorized to negotiate minor revisions <br /> to the attached agreement. <br /> PART 4.
