RESOLUTION NO. 2017-123R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION FOR A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF$57,500 TO FUND THE PURCHASE OF RIFLE-RATED BALLISTIC VESTS FOR USE BY CERTAIN POLICE OFFICERS AND PEACE OFFICERS IN THE CITY MARSHAL'S OFFICE; PROVIDING AN ASSURANCE TO REFUND GRANT FUNDS IN THE EVENT OF LOSS OR MISUSE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS AS NECESSARY TO ACCEPT AND IMPLEMENT THE GRANT, IF AWARDED; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. The submission of an application to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division for a grant in the amount of$57,500.00 to fund the purchase of rifle-rated ballistic vests for use by certain police officers and peace officers in the city marshal's office is hereby authorized. PART 2. An assurance is hereby provided that the City will return grant funds in full to the Criminal Justice Division in the event of loss or misuse. PART 4. The City Manager, or her designee, is hereby authorized to execute any and all documents as necessary to accept and implement the grant, if awarded. PART 5.
