Cox, Jr. <br />Council Members Ed Mihalkanin <br />Jane Hughson <br />Louis Doiron, Jr. <br />Earl Moseley, Jr. <br />Rick Hernandez <br />City Manager <br />Deputy City Manager <br />City Secretary <br />City Attorney <br />Director of Planning <br />Director of Public Works <br />Police Chief <br />Larry Gilley <br />Laura Huffman <br />Janis K. Womack <br />Mark Taylor <br />Ron Patterson <br />George Boeker <br />Steve Griffith <br />Also Present: Judge Jim Powers, Collette Duran, Melissa <br />Millecam, Sarah Alvarez, John Cooper, Marsha Cooper, Carol <br />Grimm, George Brooks, Jack Weatherford, Mike Narvaiz, Ted <br />Hindson, Irene Hindson, Harvey Ginsburg, Mary Compton, John <br />Boswell, Bob Mooney, Mario Gutierrez, Kelly Franks, Dianne <br />Wassenich and others. <br />Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />Mayor Moore introduced the Citizen comment period. (1) George <br />Brooks advised the Council there is a safety issue for <br />pedestrians to walk in San Marcos, and we need to make it safer. <br />(2) Harvey Ginsburg stated the City Council needs to adopt an <br />Ordinance for zero tolerance drinking and driving in San Marcos. <br />He stated New York City has adopted this policy, which will be <br />effective next month. (3) Carol Grimm and (4) Jack Weatherford <br />stated they would speak later in the meeting. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of four <br />appointments to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Mr. <br />Mihalkanin moved to appoint Steven Rodriguez, Mayor Moore moved <br />to reappoint Linda Keese and reappoint Marvin Nite, and Mr. <br />Hernandez moved to reappoint Mike Narvaiz, which passed <br />unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of one <br />appointment to complete a vacancy on the San Marcos Industrial <br />Development Corporation Board of Directors. Mr. Hernandez moved <br />to appoint Danny Ortega, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of one <br />appointment to complete a vacancy on the Central Texas Higher <br />Education Authority. Mayor Moore moved to appoint Sundra Spears <br />and Mr. Cox moved to appoint Leland Wilson. On roll call the <br />following vote was recorded: <br />SPEARS: Moore, Moseley. <br />WILSON: Mihalkanin, Hughson, Doiron, Cox, Hernandez. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of one <br />appointment to complete a vacancy on the Senior Citizens
