<br />181 <br />Regular Meeting May 10, 1999 Page 6 <br />Hays County to be changed so that the City may retain their own attorneys if they wish to do so. <br />Mr. Hernandez would like more input in deciding who collects taxes. The Council directed Staff <br />to negotiate amendments to the Contract with Hays County so the City may choose their own tax <br />attorney. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read <br />as follows: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCil.., OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, TERMINATING AN ANNUAL CONTRACT WITH CENTRAL TEXAS <br />ROADS, INC. FOR THE PROVISION OF BASE WORK FOR THE CITY'S <br />OVERLAY PROGRAM; AWARDING A CONTRACT TO BOWDEN ROAD <br />COMPANY FOR THE PROVISION OF BASE WORK FOR THE CITY'S <br />OVERLAY PROGRAM; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mr. Doiron moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Moseley seconded the motion. <br />Discussion ensued. On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br />A YE: None. <br />NAY: Hughson, Doiron, Moore, Moseley, Cox, Hernandez, Mihalkanin. <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration the consent agenda, including approval of the <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting held April 26, 1999, the Minutes of a Special Meeting held May <br />4, 1999, approval of two Ordinances on second reading, adoption of one Ordinance on third and <br />final reading, and adoption of ten Resolutions. The Council removed item 13.A.(1), approval of <br />the Minutes of the Regular Meeting held April 26, 1999, item 13.B.(2), approval of an Ordinance <br />of second reading, items 13.D.(2), 13.D.(5) and 13.D.(lO), adoption of Resolutions, to be <br />considered separately. Mr. Mihalkanin moved for approval of the Minutes of the Special <br />Meeting held May 4, 1999, approval of an Ordinance of second reading, adoption of an <br />Ordinance on third and final reading, and adoption of the seven remaining Resolutions, on <br />consensus. Mr. Cox seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The captions of these <br />Ordinances and Resolutions read as follows: <br />Approval of an Ordinance on second reading: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCil.., OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 90.131 OF THE CITY CODE TO REDUCE THE <br />REQUIRED HOURS OF OPERATION OF TAXICAB SERVICES; INCLUDING <br />PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />Adoption of an Ordinance on third and final reading: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING THE ABANDONMENT OF THE 15 FOOT ALLEYWAY <br />LOCATED BETWEEN LOTS 4 THROUGH 8 OF BLOCK 4 OF CEDAR PLATEAU <br />ADDITION, LOCATED ADJACENT TO THE 1300 BLOCK OF BROWN STREET; <br />APPROVING THE CONVEYANCE OF THIS ALLEYWAY TO ADJACENT <br />PROPERTY OWNERS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE <br />DEEDS TO THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Adoption of Resolutions: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AWARDING ANNUAL CONTRACTS TO TEMPLE, INc., KBS <br />ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTORS, AND WESCO FOR THE PURCHASE OF POLE <br />
