<br /> 184 <br />Regular Meeting May 10, 1999 Page 9 <br />Mayor Moore introduced a discussion item regarding the appointment process for Members of <br />the Planning and Zoning Commission. The Council wants Staff to bring the Ordinance at the <br />next Regular City Council Meeting regarding appointment timing, required training and <br />beginning of terms. <br />Mayor Pro-Tern Mihalkanin introduced a discussion item regarding City Council Agenda <br />wording for Executive Session discussions. Mr. Taylor stated this is a proposal to change the <br />wording on Council Agendas to provide flexibility for the Council to consider Executive Session <br />discussions for items posted on the agenda for action. The Council agreed with Mr. Taylor for <br />this to be stated on future agendas of the Council. <br />Mayor Pro-Tern Mihalkanin introduced a discussion item regarding truck traffic restrictions on <br />Bishop Street. Ms. Hughson stated one change that could take place is to change the weight limit <br />signs for trucks on Hopkins Street. The Council directed Staff bring to the next Regular City <br />Council Meeting an action item. <br />Mayor Moore introduced the City Manager's Report. Mr. Gilley had no report at this meeting. <br />Mayor Moore introduced the City Attorney's Report. Mr. Taylor had no report at this meeting. <br />Mayor Moore introduced the City Council's Report. 1. Mr. Moseley stated he and Mayor Moore <br />attended the John Carver seminar in Dallas on May 6, 1999. He will have a summary report for <br />the Council and would like their opinion and possibly bring back as an action item. 2. Ms. <br />Hughson asked Mr. Gilley when the Council will be receiving TXDOT items. Mr. Gilley stated <br />he will brink back the community items to be given to TXDOT. 3. Ms. Hughson stated the Joint <br />Meeting in May that SWT has all VPs invited, but when Council discussed inviting SWT it was <br />agreed that there would be one representative and others are welcome to attend. 4. Mr. <br />Hernandez stated the ten-minute citizen comment period is very lengthy and needs to be <br />discussed further as an agenda item. 5. Mr. Doiron stated Larry Sowards has all the information <br />about the Amber Plan. <br />Mr. Mihalkanin moved to adjourn the meeting at 10:45 p.m. and Mr. Hernandez seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br />I b~ ~. ~ <br /> Billy G.
