<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />1.3.19 BFI will assist the City in conducting household hazardous waste collection <br />programs through independent hazardous materials contractors, as follows: <br /> <br />(a) Assist the City in planning and organizing the collection program; <br />(b) Answer questions from the public; <br />(c) Be available for site visits before the program; <br />(d) Develop and administer a public education program; and <br />(e) Respond to media questions. <br /> <br />1.4 OPERATION OF COLLECTION SERVICES <br /> <br />Quality <br /> <br />BFlwill: <br /> <br />1.4.1 Not spill or leave garbage or rubbish remaining when making pickups. If BFI spills <br />garbage or rubbish it will clean the spill before the truck leaves the premises. <br /> <br />1.4.2 Be responsible for damage to any private or City owned property caused by willful <br />or negligent acts or by accidents. <br /> <br />Collection Routes <br /> <br />BFlwill: <br /> <br />1.4.3 Establish residential collection routes and will submit a map designating the <br />residential collection routes to the City for its approval, which shall not be unreasonably <br />withheld. BFI may propose changes In routes or days of collection affecting residential <br />units. Any change in routes or scheduling will be subject to approval by the Director prior <br />to implementation, which shall not be unreasonably withheld. BFI will deliver a written <br />notice of approved changes to each affected residential unit. <br /> <br />1.4.4 Publish, at its expense, at least once during each calendar year, a map of the <br />approved residential collection routes which clearly shows all pertinent information in a <br />newspaper circulated in the immediate area. <br /> <br />1.4.5 Not commence collection in residential areas prior to 7:00 a.m. or continue <br />collection after 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Holidays <br /> <br />1.4.6 BFI may observe six (6) legal holidays in each calendar year (New Year's Day, <br />Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day). If <br />a holiday is to be observed, BFI will publish a notice in the paper advertising the change <br />in the schedule. A decision to observe any of the above holidays does not relieve BFI of <br /> <br />9 <br />
